Between June and July, the magnificent villas of the Riviera and their beautiful parks are filled with music thanks to the music festival “Un Fiume di Note”, that every year hosts young artists from different British colleges who perform in prestigious locations around Europe. The musicians here perform with a background of beautiful villas and fantastic parks, but also play in other spectacular locations such as St. Mark’s Cathedral and different theatres in Veneto. The mind behind the event that has now reached its 8th edition is Elisabetta Fogarin, an event planner who is passionate about music and villas: “Music is more accessible than art and literature. Sometimes villas play host to independent concerts or exhibitions of internationally known artists. Villas make for ideal locations for a night of good music. The fantastic acoustic, the wonderful frescoed rooms and perfectly-kept gardens belong together with the sound of music and create a unique and unmissable experience.”
The selection of concerts is always very varied as it includes classical, pop, rock and jazz music. Concerts have free entry, but it is recommended to book in advance as they get booked up easily. Every location offers different types of activities that range from a historical happy hours to food tastings or and night tours of Villas and gardens. The event is an unmissable opportunity to enjoy live music performed by orchestras, bands and choirs composed of up to 100 musicians and to appreciate the scenery of the Brenta Riviera and its dreamlike views. The festival is held in the beautiful Villas of the Brenta Riviera such as Villa Pisani, Villa Foscarini Rossi in Stra, Villa Ducale in Dolo and Villa Widmann in Mira. Every year new and different locations along the Brenta Canal are added, to make known the historical and architetural beauty of the area.
