Every year in the first fortnight of May, the first fruit and vegetable event is held by the Pro Loco of Scorzè, which has done much for the inclusion in the municipal area of two interprovincial PGI products, radicchio from Treviso and asparagus from Badoere. In particular, the municipality of Scorzè is the only area in the province of Venice to have obtained this designation.
Since 2008, the event has been part of the “Buds of Spring” project, an initiative promoted by UNPLI Veneto tending to enhance the consumption of PGI Asparagus and promote wine tourism in the area.
Exhibitions of local crafts and commerce choreograph this festival, which is inaugurated on the first Sunday in the presence of local and provincial authorities. Throughout the event, a rich asparagus and strawberry food stand and a permanent market exhibition of these products will delight both the sight and the palate of those who come to visit.
